Tumori in Italia
is the portal of the oncological epidemiology. It provides data,
figures and information on cancer in our country. It is created
by the project "I Tumori in Italia",
coordinated by the National Institute of Cancer (INT) in collaboration
with the Institute of Health (ISS). It is supported by Alliance
against Cancer. Various research institutes and oncological networks
are involved.
The user has direct and interactive
access to a wide data bank to obtain
figures and graphs describing the different pathologies. This data
bank contains regional estimates up to 2010 of the number of new
cases, deaths and prevalent cases for various cancer sites. Queries
can be referring to the whole country, individual regions, by year,
or period of years, from 1970.

However, there are not only numbers and figures:
the site provides information on risk factors, preventive policies,
registration activity, screening activity, and indicators useful
for regional pathological surveillance, with particular attention
to the reality of South Italy. There are also international comparisons.

Innovation of the search in the substitutive hormonal
therapy: the treatment that does not increase the risk of cancer to
the breast. In publication a wide perspective study, the E3N/EPIC,
lead with the collaboration of 100.000 teaching French women, in which
some increase of risk of cancer to the breast in the women is not
attested who make use of the progesterone natural in the cure of disturbs
