The data bank offers statistics able to describe the cancer in Italy: data come from official statistical sources (observed values) or are obtained through processes of estimation. Observed and estimated measures are population-based and describe illnesses through relative indicators.
Population and mortality data are provided by ISTAT (Italian Institute of Statistics), and patients’ survival data of specific areas are provided by Cancer Registries.

Data Bank Available measures and indicators

The data bank provides information on the population, mortality and survival, measures that can be observed from statistical sources (i.e. ISTAT and Cancer Registries). Relative indicators are calculated on available data. Incidence and prevalence cannot be observed regionally and nationally, and relative indicators can be obtained through specific estimate methodologies.
